The following list was compiled using information from the National Center for Education Statistics’ College Navigator Database, as well as the individual schools’ websites. The order of this list is based on each school’s tuition rate, ranking the highest rate No. 10 and so on.

10. National University

San Diego, Calif.
National University is a fully-featured online university based in San Diego. The school offers as many or more bachelor’s degrees as any typical brick and mortar institution. The affordable tuition isn’t based on residency, and NU has campuses in 45 locations across California, Texas, Florida, Nevada, Georgia and Virginia. So, even if you have to move, chances are you aren’t too far from one of their physical locations, should you need to go in. The open admission policy means that anybody with the will to learn is welcome.

9. Brandman University

Irvine, Calif.
Brandman University is consistently ranked among the best programs for veterans by U.S. News & World Report(http://www.usnews.com/). The school is designed from the ground up to cater to working professionals and non-traditional students, but the school isn’t exclusive to those students. Brandman offers multiple programs in business, education and nursing.

8. California State University–Chico

Chico, Calif.
CSU Chico offers four undergraduate programs online, which include a BA in social science (with either a multidisciplinary focus or a specialized focus), BA in liberal studies or a BA in sociology. 7. California State University–East Bay

Hayward, Calif.
CSU East Bay offers both online and hybrid programs. The hybrid programs are great for students who want the convenience of online learning for most of their classes, but still want the option to take certain classes on campus. CSU East Bay offers five undergraduate programs, among them are degrees in human development, business administration and recreation.

6. California State University–Northridge

Northridge, Calif.
While there are only two truly online undergraduate programs at CSU Northridge, there are some other interesting options. The school offers a ten-course cohort-based professional skill development program in film and television post production technology. In addition to the bachelor’s completion program in liberal studies, the school also offers an undergraduate program in public sector management.

5. California State University–Channel Islands

Camarillo, Calif.
CSUCI offers just one online program right now–a BS in business, which is one of the most popular degree programs today. This program is designed for working adults looking to complete their degree. 4. California State University–Fullerton

Fullerton, Calif.
While Fullerton offers a wide range of online graduate programs, there are only two bachelor’s programs offered completely online. However, the undergraduate programs offered by Fullerton are two extremely useful degrees–business administration and sociology. Both of these lay solid groundwork for students looking to earn graduate degrees, and they can also be useful to students looking to jump straight into the workforce. Both programs cover their topics in a pretty general sense, which can help students find work upon graduation.

3. California State University–Dominguez Hills

Carson, Calif.
CSU Dominguez Hills offers programs in applied studies, nursing and quality assurance. Seaside, Calif.

Fountain Valley, Calif.
If you don’t live near a community college, or your schedule doesn’t permit you to attend class regularly, never fear, Coastline Community College offers cheap associate’s degree programs online. Now you can get those first sixty credits out of the way in the most convenient and affordable way possible. Most community colleges have very sparse online offerings, so Coastline tops this list because of the various and cheap online degree programs offered for associate’s degrees. Areas of emphasis for the associate of arts programs include science and math, communications, and social and behavioral sciences. Coastline also offers 13 distinct online associate of arts majors.
